About Us

The division of Pediatric Gastroenterology at AIIMS has a long and illustrious history which includesglobally significant contributions in the field of rotavirus diarrhea and vaccine development, pioneering work on the role of zinc in acute diarrheal disease, management changes in persistent diarrhea in children and point diagnostic tests in celiac disease. Currently the division is reorganizing to face the future challenges in the fields of inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease and pediatric liver disease and strengthen diagnostic services in this space including advanced endoscopic procedures and assessment of GI physiology.

We have expertise in the treatment of Pediatric inflammatory bowel disease and Celiac disease in addition to management of common childhood conditions such as functional constipation and others.
Programs and Services

We provide outpatient consultations in the pediatric OPD on Mondays and Thursdays and run a Specialclinic for children with long term gut and liver issues on Friday afternoon. We provide advanced endoscopy services on Wednesday and Saturdaymornings in the C5 day care suite where we have a dedicated pediatric endoscopy space. We are able to provide the full gamut of endoscopy ranging to diagnostic to therapeutic endoscopy, enteroscopy and capsule endoscopy and will soon be adding add GI physiology and manometry services. We also run inpatients admission facility for children with GI and liver disease. In addition we provide support to the pediatric emergency for urgent procedures.
